The Kitchener Drain Solid Waste Project is financed by a EUR 79 Million loan by the EBRD and co-financed by a 5 million Euro investment grant and a 3 million Euro technical assistance grant by the NIF. Together with our partners Resource and Waste Advisory Group (RWA) Apex Consulting implemented the technical assistance component in Dakahlia Governorate in Egypt supporting the Governorate with planning its waste management system, developing its waste institutional structures and building capacities of employees to effectively manage waste services.

The Greater Cairo Air Pollution Management and Climate Change Project (GCCC)
The World Bank financed GCCC aims at reducing air emissions from critical sectors and increasing resilience to air pollution in Greater Cairo. Together with our Partners DSS+ and WRF from Switzerland Apex Consulting is supporting the project and the Ministry of Environment with developing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Policies for the sustainable management of various WEEE fractions.

Capacity Building for Urban Infrastructure Project (CBUID)
The GIZ CBUID project seeks to improve living conditions in informal settlements through improvement of urban infrastructure and creation of employment opportunities in three targeted areas in Alexandria, Beheira and Asyut. Apex worked with GIZ to design and implement waste collection systems in the three governorates using a participatory methodology engaging all stakeholders.
The National Solid Waste Management Project (NSWMP)

The NSWMP is main waste sector reform project in Egypt. As consultants for GIZ, Apex Consulting conducted a feasibility study for the establishment of a Waste Management Company in Qena Governorate. Teh study addressed institutional, technical, financial and economic dimensions for setting up a public private partnership (PPP) model for waste management in Qena.

As part of a consortium of companies including RCREEE and Green Plus, Apex Consulting worked with DAR AL Handasah (Shaear & Partners) to develop the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the expansion of Egypt's New Capital. Our work focused on integrating resource efficiency, climate change mitigation and circular economy solutions in the master plan for the New Capital.
